WALLA WALLA day one 👇🏼 🍷

It feels so good to be back in wine country! It is giving me life again 🫶🏼 we got up early, left Coeur d’Alene and drove straight to @thewallsvineyards. Did some barrel sampling of their 2022 single vineyard Cabernets Sauvignons and my favorite at this time was the French Creek Vineyard, but we will have to wait and see the final results next spring! Then we had my favorite cheese plate in the valley, harissa potatoes, and a delicious wedge salad all in partnership with @passatempoww

After spending our afternoon there, we stopped in to check out the new @dossierwine tasting room in Walla Walla. Technically it was opened in November, but new to me since we were living out of the country. Their new Woodinville location actually opens next week, so must go visit as well. One of my favorite people in Walla Walla, @wallawallasteve is pouring at @dossierwine so it’s a must visit all around. The tasting room is beautiful and I am stealing their paint color for my living room renovations

After we checked in to our home in Milton Freewater right in the rocks vineyards. Pinch Me!! More on that to come -

Monday dinner in Walla Walla always is at @passatempoww IYKYK and we had the company of Trey and Holly! They brought their 2008 @sleightofhandcellars and told us the story of how he was told that wine was in the Wine Spectator top 100 wines, which was pretty funny. We ordered a bottle of @deviumwines French Creek red wine blend - low alcohol and perfect to start dinner off with. We all got pasta, then the restaurant spoiled us with Lambrusco paired with blueberry sorbet. And of courses I finished the night off with an espresso martini con tequila 🍸

All in all it was a lovely kinda quite day in wine country and I can’t wait to share day two with you tomorrow 🍷🍷🍷

Leading my first Tequila Tasting with the help of @codigo1530

Last week we had a few friends come down to Puerto Vallarta and we all rented a beautiful home about an hour north. I wanted to do something special for everyone, and thought a tequila tasting would be so fun for them.

I partnered with @codigo1530 and it was a hit!

The friends who were tasting were a mix of wine lovers, cigar guys, and high end whisky sippers. I knew @codigo1530 would be a hit with them because of the pure agave taste and no additives (other than oak barrels for aging)

Not to my surprise, because I feel the same, but to their surprise - I quote “the best blanco tequila I have ever tasted” it’s pure agave plant with racing minerality that shines through.

Another crowd favorite (and mine) is the Rosa, which is aged in used Cabernet Sauvignon barrels from Napa! How cool is that for us wine lovers?

I know I am no tequila expert, but living in Mexico I do get to try a lot of great tequilas that we won’t be able to find in the states. But luckily @codigo1530 is sold at Total Wine so you can try it too!

Kiss of the Gods 💋

This drink is inspired from my recent trip to Oaxaca, Mexico but I am going to be taking it one step farther and taking you down the rabbit hole with @400conejosus #ad

The star of this cocktail is the 400 Conejos Mezcal. In Mesoamerican religious traditions, only the esteemed priests held the key to connecting with the divine. To achieve this sacred communion, they engaged in the ritual consumption of beverages crafted from agave. These special libations were reserved solely for religious ceremonies and those with a spiritual calling. The gods of the drinks were collectively called 400 Rabbits, which translated in Spanish is 400 Conejos.

Now that you know the history behind this cocktail, here is the recipe:

2 oz @400conejosus Mezcal Joven
.5 oz corn liqueur
.25 oz ancho chili syrup
5 dashes chocolate bitters
Orange peel garnish
Worm salted rim

*If you don’t want to use worm salt, you can mix tajin and salt together for a great substitute.

Add all ingredients to a glass and stir. Rim half of your rocks glass with a small amount of the juice from the orange and dip in worm salt. Add a king cube to the glass and pour the liquid over. Stir 10 times. Squeeze orange peel over cocktail and wedge it in between the glass and ice. Enjoy! #KeepIt400
